It's been a weekend of independent films here. Last night Eric and I watched Broken Flowers with Bill Murray. Not bad- a little odd, especially the ending, or lack there of in our opinion but interesting. Then today I watched Reel Paradise which is a documentary about a family who spends a year in Fiji, showing free movies to the people there. Very interesting slice of a different culture's life, a new perspective on movies, and a very unique look into a life of a typical upper-upper middle class American family who is transported to a different world. And some definite dos and don'ts in regards to parenting:-)
But an interesting flick nontheless.

Sarah-bara-bara!!
It is Sunday night. Right now, I am sitting in a guest-house in Kabul, Afghanistan and reading your blog. So, you see, even someone in Kabul is reading your blogs :):). Since I haven't heard from you in such a long-long time (I know i am worse at writing, but at least you used to be good :)), I enjoyed reading what you have been up to. Now that i know you do spend a certain time on your computer, do send me a note once in a while. I really miss hearing from you and I have been feeling that you have completely disappeared. Keep up the blogs!!!!
love, sh.
I rented Broken Flowers myself, and even though I liked the individual performances, the open ending and the long held scenes where nothing happened, and worst of all that driving music (that was so awful we hit the mute button), made my friend and I decide overall we thought it was one I wouldn't recommend.
Sorry you missed the Princess Bride! We'll do it again some other time!
